Microsoft Suite......When to use an application.

Word processor and presentation I feel go hand and hand.  Both applications are presentation focused, PowerPoint is more visuals being shown on the big screen and processor is more of a paper visual that can be handed out or emailed.  Presentation gives you more options to catch the eye of the viewer such as animations, customization, and visual appeal but both applications ultimately aim at getting the same message across.  Spreadsheet is more of an application for numbers, this application can be used in connection with PowerPoint and word processor as it can created graphs and spreadsheets on statistical analysis for presentations or documents needing dispersed.

The great thing about Microsoft Suite is that it's the ultimate package, if one application falls short on what can provide there is another that can help.  Processor is great for memos, and newsletters, but you cannot create graphs and data collections.  Spreadsheet is terrific for showing statistics and numbers, but making it look appealing is hard to do.  PowerPoint is amazing for making visual pieces to make your presentations appealing and eye catching but can have some drawbacks.  With so much that PowerPoint provides it can get overwhelming for the viewer if the creator puts too much into their slides.  Database is great for accessing key information of company information, employment status and even sales records.  But in order for database to function properly you need someone with a great deal of knowledge of the application in order for it to run properly since databases are constantly updating and changing.
