The importance of knowing your tech at work!

Based on your current understanding of information technology, your experience with that industry, and any additional research as necessary, describe the functions of computers in your chosen industry.

For this topic, I chose the health industry, I did a little research in another class on cyber security, and I chose healthcare as a topic.  I cannot stress enough how important it is for healthcare providers to know the ins and outs of their own software.  Healthcare providers carry vital information from a patient's personal information like social, address, payment methods, and even health status, but they also carry very important programs.   Hospitals alone carry machines and other devices that are specifically programmed and connected to their main servers.  Carelessly using or operating these machines and devices can have them on the wrong end of a serious hostage situation.  Not many people know this, but you can digitally hold someone or an entity hostage with their personal information.  It's doesn't happen often, but a hospital can find their way into a ransomware situation because of carless operations of these computers or devices.

Another obvious reasoning of the importance of knowing their computer scheme is that these computers and machines are life savers.  They implement and do what is told by the operator.  Tell a computer to inject to much of a certain chemical or your slightly off of incisions it can mean the death of a patient.  The computers are their because they are pinpoint accurate with their executions, but they only execute what they are told, if you get someone behind the wheel who makes a mistake on how to operate the equipment it can only speak bad news.  Technology is always growing at a rapid rate, 40 years ago and you would be kicked out of any room if you told them that a doctor would perform nano surgeries looking through a screen and using a joystick, the way technology benefits us by far outweighs the cons.  I can't see a future in healthcare with new technology that doesn't already exist, but with bright minds out there we can definitely push the boundaries of technology and make it even better.
